CJ and I joined the Eating in Madison A to Z crew again last month on a trip to the Outback Steakhouse, capping off a Father’s Day afternoon spent at Vitense Golfland. Three and a half is too young for miniature golf, it turns out, but just right for Outback Steakhouse.
Wow, they’re in the O’s already.
Flipping through the Madison A to Z blog makes me jealous — you have so many more options there than down here in Champaign-Urbana. But at least I got some geek pride out of reading it, since I wondered whether the choice of a blooming onion was a Buffy reference before you mentioned this…
Oh, totally. That scene with Spike and Andrew is somehow the purest encapsulation of the awesome weirdness of season 7, where the world’s coming to an end and you’re just kind of cooped up in a room not really knowing what to do except keep on cracking wise.
Speaking of the world coming to a end, I just watched the extra Dollhouse episodes that come on the DVD. The original pilot manages to be even lamer than the actual aired pilot, but episode 13, “Epitaph One” is very different than what came before, and is set in post-apocalypse LA of 2019. It certainly increase my hopes for next season. The first season was a little disappointing overall, and I have to say that I enjoyed Castle more that Dollhouse despite the former’s conventional murder-mystery format— Nathan Fillion is so much fun to watch…
