Also:  it seems to me that having one regular starter with an ERA of 8, like Brian Matusz, should induce a tendency to have W-L better than Pythagorean W-L, as the Orioles did last year (by 2 games) and which, for the moment, they do again now.  You pile up a lot of negative run differential in those games but you can only lose each one once.
